What Sets KöR Apart?
The KöR teeth whitening system uses specially formulated whitening gels, along with customized KöR-Seal™ whitening trays to ensure that patients get maximum results from their treatment. The KöR teeth whitening system also uses a unique refrigeration process that guarantees patients are getting a product that is virtually just as fresh as the day it was made. Any whitening product is unstable by nature, which is actually what allows them to break down stains and discoloration. However, this instability also means that whitening gels will continually degenerate as they are kept in storage unless they are refrigerated. By keeping KöR products refrigerated from the moment they are manufactured, and by using customized trays that block out saliva, the KöR teeth whitening system ensures that patients receive six or more hours of active teeth whitening, as opposed to the 25-30 minutes that is provided by most teeth whitening treatments.
Another unique benefit of KöR teeth whitening is that it greatly reduces sensitivity related to whitening treatment. Prior to beginning their KöR teeth whitening treatment, patients will undergo a desensitizing treatment. This treatment uses desensitizers to block the tubules of the teeth so that bleaching agents cannot reach the sensitive nerves at the center of the teeth. Patients will continue to use desensitizer throughout their at-home treatment. In doing this, we are able to prevent or greatly minimize sensitivity for patients, rather than simply treating it after it occurs.
What Is Treatment Like?
KöR teeth whitening treatment will be customized to the specific needs of each patient. While each treatment may vary slightly, the average patient will receive a desensitization and preparation treatment at our office before beginning a series of at-home treatments. At home, patients can expect to wear their whitening trays while they sleep, each night for a period of approximately two weeks. At the end of this period, patients may return for an in-office teeth whitening treatment. After a series of KöR teeth whitening treatments, patients will have dramatically whiter teeth that are free of surface stains. With maintenance treatments roughly once a month, patients can maintain this new, whiter smile long-term.
